Native of Ormond Beach, Florida, Mr. Sanders is a graduate of Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach.
Mr. Sanders has a B.A. in Biological Science from the Florida State University and a J.D. from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. While in law school, Mr. Sanders was a staff writer on the California Western Law Review and worked as a Certified Legal Intern with the San Diego Public Defender´s Office.
Mr. Sanders was admitted to practice in Florida and California in 1996. After working a couple years as a Felony Trial Attorney in the Public Defender´s Office in DeLand, Florida, Mr. Sanders went into private practice with offices in DeLand and Daytona Beach. His practice is exclusively criminal defense, handling cases ranging from Misdemeanors up to Capital Felonies. He is lead counsel qualified to handle the defense of death penalty cases.
Mr. Sanders was the Chapter Representative for the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL), Volusia County Chapter from 2002 to 2008 and is currently the local President for the FACDL Volusia County Chapter. He served on the Board of Directors for the Volusia County Bar Association from 2003 to 2009 and he is the immediate past President of the Volusia County Bar Association. Mr. Sanders has served as a Teen Court volunteer and has taught Criminal Justice as an Adjunct Instructor at Daytona Beach Community College.
